singleclickstop function

I'm utilizing the singleclickstop function to allow users to halt the pop-up so they can click on a link within. I can halt the pop-up and move on to another and do the same with no problem....until I actually click on a link and leave the page. Once I return to the orginal page with the box overs I have to refresh the page for the singleclickstop function to begin working again? Any suggestions? Am I missing something?
