This is possible though to implement something like that you need more control over the webpage than just placing boxover directly in the question link page.
Off the top of head you would have to use javascript (specifically the XMLHTTP object) to make HTTP requests. This is pretty advanced though - it's currently used extensively by Google with Gmail. Why the limited control over the links page? |

The application is written by a third party software house that is very inexperienced in web design and I'm trying to get them to clean the application up a bit through use of better visual screen design.
It is a bit like pushing water up hill with a rake, they don't care very much and keep coming up with absurd estimates for adding things like tooltips in. Honestly, it is a very frustrating experience, for example the other day I wanted to add another help link into the links page and I got a quote for half a day !!!! Can you believe it - adding a single "a" link into a web page takes 4 hours to do. Thanks for your help, I thought the XMLHTTP object might be required, if I even mention this to them and use the word Ajax in the same sentence they would probably faint ! So I'm afraid I will get no joy from these lot, I could I suppose write a whole pile of grease monkey scripts and do it the hard way. Thanks for your help |
