Default How to use boxover on each item in a <select> element

Hi,

Does anyone know how to use the boxover on each item within a <select> element? When i click the select element, and the list drops down, i want to be able to hover over each item and a unique 'tooltip' will appear for each element.

is this possible with boxover? i am using ie6

thanks.

This doesn't seem to be possible in IE. I have a select with size="10" so that it doesn't open up but rather gives a static list. I wanted to attach a different boxover text to each option. It worked great in Firefox but IE, for some reason, decided that there should be no mouseOver even on these objects. I ended up putting question marks next to the items on the list and that works well enough.
